We are super excited to announce that the C1 Racing Club & Driven Minds will be teaming up for the weekend ahead at Donington Park to promote Mental Well being and raise awareness of Mental Health within the motorsport environment! In an incredible show of support, the C1 Racing Club have kindly offered a car and entry for a handful Driven Minds ambassadors to get behind the wheel at the endurance event & spread awareness both on the track & off it.
Already a major part of many BRSCC race weekends, Driven Minds provide on the ground support through their Mental Health First Aid Trained Ambassadors to the paddock, including drivers, mechanics, officials, photographers & of course our amazing Marshals.
“As a club, we know all too well the highs & lows of motorsport and have experienced some incredibly difficult times since our formation in 2017. Having Driven Minds with us as the track provides comfort in knowing that should incidents occur that challenge us mentally, we have support available, that otherwise would not be so accessible. We are incredibly proud to get a few Driven Minds ambassadors in our Gen2 C1 for the weekend & use that as a platform to help raise awareness!”
– Robin Welsh, C1 Racing club.
“The chance to get some of our ambassadors behind the wheel of these epic little cars was something we couldn’t turn down. It provides a great platform to promote Mental Health Awareness & I’m looking forward to speaking with our Ambassadors about how their mindset will change from sprint racing to endurance racing, which is a real change & will present a challenge in its own right! I’d also like to thank Robin & the club for presenting this opportunity, it’s really amazing to have the backing of clubs like this!”
– Nick Ramsay-Gough, Driven Minds.
Sunday will see Driven Minds ambassadors Emilia Vincent, Riccy Walker & Morgan Kidd take to the track in the club’s Gen2 race car, with Jack & the amazing team at BPC Motorsport kindly volunteering to run the car for the weekend at their own expense! We also cannot thank them enough for offering this support!
Keep an eye out for updates, interviews & content with all three drivers over the weekend!
Great job guys. As a driver new to the series and carrying a rare disability (recovering from full paralysis) I can vouch for many aspects of what you do and how racing can be a major boost to mental wellbeing.
Hopefully we can catch up at some point on Sunday. I’ll be in the 412 car (Challenge-TM).
Have a great race.
Kind regards
Ted Reddick
