Following the success of it’s inaugral “track walk & talk” to mark Mental Health Awareness Week in May at Snetterton, motorsport mental health organisation, Driven Minds, will host a ‘trackwalk and talk’ at Cadwell Park in partnership with the BRSCC & Student Motorsport. The 3.5km walk is set to take place at 6.45pm on Saturday 10th August, with several Student Motorsport members, and BRSCC Staff and Racers in attendance.
Driven Minds is a non-profit organisation that promotes awareness of mental health within UK motorsport and the automotive industry. Currently working with the BRSCC, they provide support at circuits for all, including drivers and team staff, photographers, marshals and circuit officials at selected events.
Katie Ramsay-Gough, Driven Minds co-founder writes, “After the success at Snetterton we had many supporters ask us ‘when is the next one?!’ so I am incredibly pleased that we’ve been able to set up our second Trackwalk and Talk at Cadwell Park. It was great to see racers walk alongside the marshals who had supported their racing earlier in the day, and team members across the various series enjoying the chat and wind down. There’s something so calming about a track after the action has finished for the day, I highly recommend anyone attending Cadwell on the 10th to join us!”
The BRSCC continues to be extremely proud to be work alongside Driven Minds, a key part of our paddock on race weekends for more than a year now and providing competitors, officials, marshals and anyone else within a BRSCC paddock with a safe space to discuss anything which may be affecting their mental health. Our partnership continues to allow us to support the wider motorsport community in this way, and after the success of the first track walk at Snetterton a couple of months ago, we are happy to show our support once again to Driven Minds for both this weekend’s walk at Cadwell Park and the great work they do to help those in need. We look forward to seeing as many of our competitors, team members and co joining in on Saturday evening.

The Student Motorsport Challenge is delighted to support Driven Minds’ Trackwalk & Talk at Cadwell Park. As our students and learners move towards careers in motorsport, the pressures of working within a professional sporting environment will be very apparent. The tools and support provided by Driven Minds will mean that they are well-equipped mentally for the challenges ahead. We look forward to Driven Minds speaking with our teams at the weekend, and further developing our relationship with them as we continue to grow the Challenge in the years ahead.
JP Latham, Student Motorsport Founder
